In Memory of Lois Holm

 Lois Kusch Dahl Holm
1930 - 2014

Lois, my mother-in-law, passed away March 20, 2014. She was a kind, generous, good-hearted woman of faith and strength. She always had a good word to say about everyone. She was a wonderful mother-in-law and grandma. She was a great cook! She baked delicious strawberry bread and Christmas cookies for each family at Christmas. She carefully selected gifts for each of the grandchildren at Christmas and birthdays. My daughters now make Grandma Lois' Hash Brown Potato Casserole on holidays in remembrance of her.

I enjoyed going to garage sales with Lois, Lynette and Debi. Lois had an artistic eye for finding beautiful things for her home.

Lois always helped me in the kitchen when she came to my house for parties.
In addition to bringing food for the get-together, she always washed the dishes for me.

Lois enjoyed her lovely flower garden. I have many hostas and day lily plants because she generously dug up plants to share with me. When I see them in my yard, I think of her.

I am blessed that Lois was my mother-in-law. I love her and miss her, but I know she is in perfect peace and happiness now and for all time in heaven.

Lois and her cousin, Nohna were the same age and grew up together like sisters. They lived on the same block in Chicago. Here is a photo of the two of them on a float in a parade. If you look closely, you will see the flag with their names written on it.

Don't they look mature with their hats on.

On October 25, 1980, Lois married Fred Holm. Both she and Fred had lost their spouses in 1973.
