On Wednesday, Aug. 20th, Don and I visited Lynette and had a great time. We all had lunch at Naf Naf's and then Lynette and I had a wonderful time stamping. Lynette had lots of great ideas!
We used Altenew's Leaf Canopy stamp set on four cards. In preparation, we made a sample on some odd colored watercolor paper from Lynette's stash. At the end of the day, we thought the trial version was good enough for a card. Here you see the three cards we made.
We used Lynette's Caran D'Ache watercolors and a waterbrush and added color directly to the leaf canopy stamp on the acrylic block. Then stamped it on the watercolor paper. Once dry, we cut it with the Altenew Leaf Canopy die, which cut beautifully. We used the Tim Holtz bricks embossing folder to layer on the peachy-orange card.
Again, using Caran D'Ache watercolors, we added color with a water brush on the Leaf Canopy stamp on an acrylic block. This time we added the watercolor panel to an orange cardstock base. We used a dotted stamp from Stamps by Judith instead of splattering the dots.
Our inspiration for these kraft cards is from an Altenew blog hop back in 2018. Scroll down to card #3, #4 and #6 to see Erum Tasneem's card. We used Brilliance ink on the leaf canopy stamp.
For these cards we were inspired by Erum Tasneem's No-Line Watercoloring using Leaf Canopy Stamp Set by Altenew, July 29, 2018. We used Caran D'Ache watercolor crayons and a water brush on the Leaf Canopy stamp on an acrylic block. Then stamped the image onto watercolor paper. For splatters, we used that dotted stamp from Stamps by Judith.
Lynette helped me to copy this card design that she made previously. When I saw her card, I fell in love with it.
We inked one side of Gina K Tapestry embossing folder. I think it's the Non-raised side. If the raised side was inked, the dots and leaves would be blue. Instead the background is blue from the ink.
We stamped the Stampin Up Marvelous Morning Glory flowers with SU Tempting turquoise, stamping off three times for the lighter shade (the fuller stamp). Then stamped the inside details part with full Tempting Turquoise.
