Easter Cards 2021

I had lots of fun with wrinkle free distress technique on my Easter cards.
Used Georgia Pacific 110 lb cardstock.
Inkpads used:  Stampin' Up! peekaboo peach. Distress shaded lilac, worn lipstick, salty ocean, spiced marmalade, squeezed lemonade

After the papers were dry I flattened them with my hands. Then I stamped with Versafine onyx black ink using an Embossing Arts Co. stamp called "He is Risen!"

On a white card base, with distress worn lipstick, stamped the left side with swirly stamps from Autumn Leaves called Elegant Flourishes by Rhonna Farrer. Used distress squeeezed lemonade and worn lipstick on the other two cards, using an old Hero Arts Cleardesign set called Borders.  The borders stamp was short so I had to stamp multiple times. Decided it was much easier to arrange the Elegant Flourishes stamps in my Misti. I experimented with mounting the panels on yellow and pink paper.

Here you see the panels mounted on black paper. Used distress shaded lilac, worn lipstick and SU peekaboo peach for the swirls.

Below you can see more detail in the individual cards. You can always click on an image to see a larger image. On some cards I sponged additional color onto some of the panels.

Below I switched to using ink sprays, for these four cards:
Used Dylusions ink spray: London bridge (blue) and fresh lime. I sprayed color on my craft sheet and spritzed with water. Then placed cardstock on the wet ink and turn the paper a bit to "collect" the colors.

Thank you for visiting me! Hoping you are well and healthy. Wishing Easter Blessings for all who celebrate.

Easter 2019 Lamb Cake

Happy Easter Monday!

Here is the lamb cake I made for our Easter celebration yesterday.
I used my mom's Wonderful Pound Cake recipe
and butter cream frosting.
I spread a layer of frosting on with a spatula first.
Then I piped on the frosting with a Wilton bag and star tip.
I used green food coloring to color the coconut for grass.
Then added Cadbury eggs on top.

Here is a close up. I like to use raisins for the eyes and mouth.

Wishing you a beautiful 50 days of Easter!

Happy Easter 2018

Happy Easter!
Here is the 2018 lamb cake.
I always use my mom's aluminum lamb cake mold
and her recipe for Wonderful Pound Cake.
This recipe make a lot of batter.
After filling the lamb mold, I pour the excess batter to a loaf pan.
Wishing you Easter Blessings!

Happy Easter 2016

Happy Easter!!!
Here is this year's lamb cake. Last year I had so much trouble piping the frosting that I gave up and used a spatula. This year, I added a bit more milk to my buttercream frosting until it flowed easily through the Wilton bag and decorative tip.

I placed Cadbury mini chocolate eggs around my lamb.  I wanted to add green coconut for "grass". However, I ran out of coconut and just didn't have the energy to run back to the store to buy more. I'm hoping my family will be ok with the look this year.

Happy Easter 2015

Happy Easter to all who celebrate!
It's been a little tradition in my family to have a lamb cake for Easter.
I use my mom's recipe for pound cake and her aluminum lamb mold.
It takes awhile...preparing the cake, baking it and letting it cool,
making the frosting the right consistency and applying it.
I'm always kind of surprised how he looks when I'm done!

Happy Easter 2014

Here is my lamb cake for this year. As always, it's a home made pound cake (mom's recipe) with butter cream frosting. This year I had trouble with the Wilton decorator bag and tips. The frosting was not sticking to the lamb. So I made swirls with the spatula.
