Wednesday Card of the Day

Today's card features the small seahorse from Michael Strong's Cloisonne Seahorse stamp set.

My inspiration is from Kim Undseth's card.

My card base is Stampin' Up cardstock from my stash. Using a Time Holtz stencil from a Distress Mixed Media Spray Stain kit, I stenciled the circles and numbers with Artist's Loft Acrylic modeling paste and let it dry thoroughly. 

My tag is made with watercolor paper from my stash. Used distress ink smooshed onto acrylic block plus water and a paintbrush to add color to the tag: abandoned coral, crushed olive, carved pumpkin. Used a corner punch and a 1/4 inch hole punch on the top, then added twine.

The edges of a doily and torn sheet music are sponged with frayed burlap distress ink.

File Folder Card and Hand Cream Box

My daughter gave me a tube of L'Occitane hand cream a long time ago.
I have been saving the cool looking box.
The design reminded me of a stamp!
So, I cut out parts of the box
and added them as embellishments to this file folder card.
And added an old library pocket card.

For the inside "file" I sponged some distress scattered straw through a mesh bag
that contained lemons from the grocery store.
The Michael Strong mini flower is stamped in distress broken china.
I drew the stem and leaves with a peeled paint distress marker.
I'm not sure how I will use this card, so I left room for the sentiment.

Card of the Day-Thursday

I hope you don't mind that I keep revisiting wrinkle free distress technique.

It's such a quick and fun way to make backgrounds that keeps "calling me".
 I have two cards to share for the Technique Thursday Card of the Day
featuring Michael Strong's large and small flowers.

I used broken china, worn lipstick and abandoned coral distress inks,
inking a craft sheet and spritzing with water.

April 13 Stampfest with Lynette

On April 13 Lynette and I spent the day stamping at my house.

Lynette brought some cards she made recently.
I am so glad she was willing to make these cards again with me!

We always have a great time together...making cards, visiting and just hangin' out!

Washi tape from Lynette's stash

We used a kind of embossing folder stamping by adding faded jeans ink
directly onto the raised part of the Sizzix Tim Holtz Wood planks embossing folder.
Spritzed the ink with water. Placed blue cardstock paper inside and ran it through the cuttlebug.

Dried the wet paper with heat tool.
Then we enhanced the details with the distress faded jeans marker.
We colored the SU Serene Silhouettes stamp with faded jeans and forest moss markers.
Huffed before stamping. Our card base is gray with a fiber look.

Here is a "Z-fold" card using SU's Serene Silhouettes.
So glad Lynette brought that stamp set! Just love it!
Used Tombow markers red 847 and green 158 to apply color directly to the stamp.
Stamped a 2nd time without adding more color for the inside.

Grey and Yellow

I'm on a grey and yellow "kick" having fun working with 

doilies, dry embossing, tulle and burlap.
