Z-Fold Card Inspired by Hetty and Club Scrap

Made this Z-fold card after seeing Hetty Sanders' Z-fold cards, whose inspiration came from Club Scap's Z-fold cards here and here.  I used cardstock and printed paper from my stash.

The card stands up nicely.

This card fits inside an A2 envelope measuring 4-3/8 by 5-3/4 inches.

I stamped a rose from Stampin' Up!'s Hand Painted Petites, with distress peeled paint ink for the stem/leaves and SU ruby red ink for the rose. I stamped off twice for the solid part of the rose. The sentiment from Hero Arts Everyday Sayings, is also stamped in SU's Ruby Red.

Layered Guy Card

This birthday card was inspired by a card on  Anita Houston's Artful Maven blog. My card is quite simple compared to Anita's card. Sometimes I find it difficult to come up with card ideas for a guy. So I'm very thankful to Anita for the inspiration!

I love all the ephemera Anita used. I created my own ephemera making my tag to fit my card and stamping it with a Tim Holtz date chart stamp. Tim's ticket was stamped on red cardstock with distress ground espresso. The brown layer was dry embossed with Tim Holtz's Sizzix Alterations Bottle Caps folder.

Tulip Cards

These three cards were made with tulip panels from my stash. I think I used watercolor crayons to color directly on the rubber stamp, spritzing it first. I hope the recipients don't mind getting a tulip in summer!

This background was stamped with a small stamp I bought as a souvenir from Wooten's Scrapbook Co. in Ontario California in 2010. I stamped the multiple leaves stamp with Stampin' Up! certainly celery. Used SU's wild wasabi for the single leaf. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Fiskars and is stamped in SU's rose red (same for all three cards)

This background was made with stamps from two Stampin' Up sets: Just Like You and Hand Painted Petites using SU's wild wasabi ink.

Here the background is stamped with a leaf from SU's In Full Bloom.

Fresh Cuts with Burlap Card

Here is another Fresh Cuts card. As before, I stamped the rectangular image using distress oxide gathered twigs ink. When thoroughly dry, I used my makeup brushes to add color using distress worn lipstick and crushed olive ink. Wrapped that panel with brown twine.

I attached a piece of cream burlap to a kraft card base using tear off double sided adhesive tape.  Just in case that adhesive isn't strong enough, I also added a little acrylic medium in the middle part so the burlap doesn't fall off the card. Attached the card to the burlap with adhesive foam that is very sticky. I hope that's strong enough to stick to the burlap.

Fresh Cuts for Guy Birthday cards

Today I'm featuring an old Stampin' Up! set called Fresh Cuts. My inspiration is from Sherry Roth's Stamped Treasures blog.

I stamped the rectangular image using distress oxide gathered twigs ink. When thoroughly dry, sponged with distress tumbled glass ink. Because my paper is cream colored, the blue sponging with distress tumbled glass ink looks greenish. Used aqua paper to frame it. With dimensional foam, attached it to a cream base card that has a laid finish. Happy Birthday stamp from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous-THJ009 Cling Stamp-Saying Stuff.

Here is a look at the inside. Used other pieces of the Fresh Cuts set plus a favorite PrintWorks birthday sentiment, all stamped in distress oxide gathered twigs.

Tried the same layout on a kraft card base. I actually used a 2nd impression of Fresh Cuts by spritzing the stamp after I had stamped the 1st card above. I like the watercolor look it created.

Here is another "waste"  stamped impression of Fresh Cuts. This was on scrap paper, not quite as heavy as my usual cardstock. Set it aside to dry, then sponged with distress worn lipstick, crushed olive, scattered straw then broken china. Used Stampin' Up more mustard ink on the happy birthday stamp from Fiskars Birthday Bash clear stamp set.

More Beautiful Friendship

I continue to enjoy making cards with Stampin' Up!'s Beautiful Friendship set. I send out lots of birthday and anniversary cards, especially in July and August. I hope to get ahead of the game and get cards out on time...we'll see.

I stamped the 2 rose stamps with so saffron ink on a separate piece of card stock from my stash. Then fussy cut it and sponged the edges. The paper has a laid finish and it is a creamy white color. It is the same paper as the card base.
The hydrangeas are stamped in almost amethyst. The rose buds in pink pirouette and the leaves in certainly celery.
The sentiment, from Hero Arts Everyday sayings, CL342 is stamped in Distress black soot.

My inspiration for the orange and green card is from Cindy at Cindy's Corner
Maybe I got carried away with the extra stamping that I added?  Stamped the roses in Stampin' Up!'s peekaboo peach, the leaves in certainly celery and wild wasabi. Sentiment stamped in wild wasabi. I have 2 inkpads of wild wasabi and noticed one is lighter than the other...maybe needs re-inking?

Used  green cardstock from my stash. Was glad that 2 oval punches worked for the layering of the sentiment part. Added dimensional foam under the green to attach to card. I kept this card simple...was in a hurry to get it mailed. Maybe next time I'll try adding pearls or sequins and a bow! I really like how Cindy's card looked.
