Wrinkle Free Distress April 2025

 

I was inspired to make some wrinkle free distress backgrounds recently after running across a beautiful card by Jung Ahsang from 2015! I used watercolor paper, cut to about 3-1/4 by 4-1/4 inches. I dabbed distress inks onto my glass mat-in the white section, so I could see the colors: picked raspberry, worn lipstick, scattered straw and ripe persimmon. NOTE: initially I used spun sugar, but subbed worn lipstick instead. Spritzed the inks with water. Then dragged the watercolor paper through it to pickup color. You can go back and add more color if desired. 

Allow the paper to dry. You can use a heat tool to speed up the drying time. Used Versafine onyx black to stamp the images.

For my last card, I used an old Stampin' Up! inkpad called positively pink. Used Gina K's Mandala Maker for the flowers and "leaves".

Stampfest from September 2

Lynette had a stampfest at her house way back on Sept. 2.
The two cards on the right were blogged already:
 Michael Strong Halloween 2015 blog hop.
 I'd like to show you the rest of the cards we made that day.

Lynette designed our tri-panel card which was inspired by
Kathy's leaves card on her The Daily Marker Blog
We used Lynette's Stampin' UP! markers:
glorious green, rocket red, only orange, yoyo yellow
using lighter colors first.


Here Lynette used leaves which were fussy cut.
The Sizzix Birch tree embossed layer was sponged with white ink.
Then accent lines were drawn with brown marker.
Used Stamped Michael Strong's Cloisonne Alphabet for the word, FALL.
Added green crepe paper beneath the leaves.

These flower cards are made with the Tim Holtz Flower Garden set.

We both love flowers and flower stamps!

The images were stamped first.

Then an aqua brush painter was used to pick up color scribbled onto the craft sheet

to add color to the "white" areas.

Stamped a maple leaf on a bister background.

Sponged several inks on it for additional color.

I splurged and bought the 

We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board.

So far I like it. Fast and easy!

They call this a 6-Bar envelope.

It's made with a 9-1/4" square piece of paper, 

using the 4" score line for a card size of 5 x 6-1/2". 

I needed a larger envelope because the "thanks" tag extended past the card.

November 5th Stampfest with Lynette

When Lynette showed me the leaf card she made, I just had to make my own.
We used the marker thumping technique with her distress markers.
