More Fresh Cuts Cards

I am still making cards with the old Stampin' Up! set called Fresh Cuts. 

I ran across a great idea where someone stamped a second time, above the image to create a rectangular space. Just had to try that. I can no longer find the blog where I saw this. Will edit this post with the info if I find the source. Used distress vintage photo ink. The sentiment is from SU's Sincere Salutations set. Used 1/2" twill for the tie.

Another idea I found was to combine other images with Fresh Cuts. The Post Card stamp is from SU's Travel Post set. The butterflies are a cling stamp from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Papillon CMS106 set. Used distress weathered wood and faded jeans ink.

I rearranged the order of stamping here, using distress weathered wood ink.

Used distress crushed olive ink here, with Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous cling Steampunk CMS107.  Used blending brushes to add color: distress worn lipstick, scattered straw and broken china. The sentiment is stamped in Versafine onyx black.

I added the Eiffel Tower from SU's World Wonders after seeing Joanne Travis' card here. Stayed with the Post Card stamp and added some little decorative stamps from Heidi Grace's clear Cherrywood Ln. stamp set. The idea for stamping the vine on the background was not my idea either. Inspiration from this Splitcoast stamper card. Inks used stamping: distress weathered wood, hickory smoke, worn lipstick, scattered straw. Brushed colors: worn lipstick, scattered straw, faded jeans.

Floral Stampfest with Lynette

Lynette and I had a wonderful day stamping on Sunday. Our inspiration came from a card made by Gail Binette way back in 2002. It was fun to ink up old favorite stamp sets...Stampin' Up!'s  Hand Painted Petites and Marvelous Morning Glory. Both stamp sets are dated 1999!

Lynette was the designer for the day! She tested colors while I cut paper! She found that our old SU Bliss Blue inkpad worked well for both parts of the flower, stamping off once to get a lighter color for the first impression-that's the larger, more solid base flower. Then stamping the smaller part of the flower with full strength Bliss Blue on top.  Mellow moss worked well for the leaves and swirls and Old Olive for the sentiment. We sponged a white cord with Bliss Blue for the tie.

A variation of the above using a Spellbinders die for the white layer and  embossing folders Moroccan Screen-Cuttlebug for Lynette's and Textile-Cuttlebug for mine.

This card design was inspired by a card I received from a friend who told me she used Gina K's  Hearts & Flowers StampTV Kit. I really liked her card made with the Tropical Blooms stamp set. Lynette and I made our cards with Stampin' Up!'s Marvelous Morning Glory stamp set. We used a Spellbinders die for the white layer and a Sizzix embossing folder, Woodgrain on the Kraft paper layer. We stamped the Morning Glory flower with SU's pink pirouette for the larger base flower and Distress warm lipstick for the smaller flower stamp on top. Leaves and curlies stamped with SU's Pistachio Pudding. Sentiment is SU's Sincere Salutations in Versafine black onyx.

We used SU's Hand Painted Petites for this card. Lynette stamped her flowers in SU's  Pink Pirouette  and Distress Warm Lipstick. I thought I had used the same inks, but the color sure does not look the same. This is a mystery, because I have no idea what I used. Today I was testing colors and  found that it could be either SU's Peekaboo Peach or Distress Dried Marigold-both would be stamped off for the base flower and full strength for the smaller flower on top. Sentiments are SU's Sincere Salutations in Versafine Black Onyx.

We has so much fun with this style of card so we made these blue roses with SU's Bliss Blue.
