Stampfest at Lynette's, June 16, 2023

Lynette and I spent a little time stamping on Friday, June 16. We used a Hero Arts Color Layering Village stamp set.  We were inspired by the sample card on the Hero Arts blog. I have had this stamp for some time. Glad to finally use it!

Lynette's card

Laura's card
We used Lynette's Tim Holtz Stamp Platform  to stamp the village image. It was difficult to get the center of the image stamped well. When we went back a second time to press and try to get a good image, but had some blotching  and also a shift in the paper at one point. Maybe next time I'll bring my misti and we can compare it to the TH Stamp Platform.

Used Versafine onyx black ink to stamp the village outline. When dry we stamped the fill in stamp with Gina K wild dandelion ink, adding some Distress rusty hinge to just the edges.

We made clouds using Gina K's technique with torn paper, ink and blending brush. Gina has a nice tutorial YouTube near the 5:45 minute mark of Peaceful Seaside Cards & Creating Your Own Cloud Stencil - Stamp and Chat Replay Used Stampin' Up bliss blue ink for our sky with the torn paper stencil we made.

For the column like trees and round shrubs, we used Gina K jelly bean green ink. On the more "solid" stamp we stamped off on scrap paper before stamping on our panel, to get a lighter shade of green.  Then we stamped the less "solid" stamp with the jelly bean green "full strength".

We sponged distress tea dye ink around the village and the trees and shrubs.

The happy birthday sentiment from Gina K's Sketched Flowers set was stamped in Versafine onyx black ink.

Laura's card
This card is for the granddaughter of one of my dear friends. I plan to make a flamingo pillow case for the granddaughter. When I mentioned this project to Lynette, she pulled out two flamingo stamps!  I chose this stamp made by Rubber Stampede. Lynette also showed me a card she had made. I copied it and so this fun card went together very quickly.

The flamingos were stamped in Versafine onyx black ink and colored with colored pencils.

The leaves were stamped in Stampin' Up's green galore and tempting turquoise ink.

The "sweet" stamp was stamped in Stampin' Up's positively pink.

Thank you for visiting! Wishing you peace and all good!

Fun Background Stamping

I created a small stampscapes scene on my block stamped area. Applied distress dried marigold and ripe persimmon on my acrylic block. Then I spritzed with water and placed the block onto a piece of watercolor paper. Once dry, I stamped the scene.

Stampscapes:
Buck-191A and Gulls-302A in distress ground espresso
Tree Duo-085A in distress peeled paint

On the bottom of the blocked area I added green lines with my zig clean color real brush green marker. But I didn't like the look, so I stamped over that with stampscapes bush-191A.

Happy Birthday clear stamp from Dimensions-Crafts, stamped in dried espresso.

Mounted my watercolor layer on an orange piece of cardstock from my stash.

The color panel on this card was made with Dylusions Ink sprays: fresh lime, pure sunshine and postbox red. I love the vibrant color, but I am not a fan of the MESS sprays make. Maybe it's me and I'm just messy. I was trying to be careful...to spray my paper only... but the spray got all over my stamping area. Next time I will make more backgrounds outside! I probably have not used these sprays since Lynette and I had a book paper and altered book stampfest in June 2014! We used the sprays outside on her patio!

Stamps:
Stampin' Up! Antique Collectibles, Days Gone By
Rubber Stampede She Knows 3652C

Here is a photo of my sprayed panels made with the Dylusions sprays. For my card above, I cut one of the panels in half.

Thanks so much for visiting! Hope you are having a great week!

Flower Cards

Here are some cards I made recently.

Stampers Anonymous: Tim Holtz Flower GardenCMS215
Hero Arts: DC184 Ribbon Messages Stamp & Cut
(all cards shown use that die and one of the stamps from this set),
C2773 Scatter Joy
Stampin' UP!: Letters from friends, Seaside Sketches
Inks: Distress seedless preserves, peeled paint, antique linen
Spellbinders Grid SES-003 embossing folder
Wooden butterfly charm from my stash

The trees and birds layer is from my stash.
Think the trees are SU's Serene Silhouette
and the birds are from a Tim Holtz set.
Spellbinders Flowers and Leaves SES-008 embossing folder
Versafine Black Onyx ink
Twine from my stash

Used Stampin' UP's watercolor pencils (gift from my neighbor who was getting rid of them)
to "color" the Rubber Stampede Solidago Sprig 2875F. At first I added a drop of water to my craft sheet and dipped the pencil in it then colored onto the rubber, then stamped. There was a lot of color on the stamp, so I spritzed it with water. I'm thinking that spraying a fine mist onto the rubber first, then coloring in might be a better method. I was very fun playing with the watercolor pencils.
I used a piece of mulberry paper over my white oval spellbinders Labels 10 shape. Used Cuttlebug D'vine Swirls Embossing Folder  on background layer.
Stampin' UP! Lavender Lace ink
Fibers from my stash

This image and the next are of the same card.
I cut a scalloped oval from the front.
Then cut an oval (Spellbinders Labels 10) from white cardstock.
Dry embossed that with Cuttlebug's Script.
I adhered that to the inside.
and added a fussy cut,  watercolor pencil colored flower on top.
Fibers from my stash.
Another view, with a peek to the inside of this card.

Thanks so much for visiting!
