Dry Embossed Card Set with Case

I made a set of note cards as a hostess gift for our neighbor last week.

The fronts of the card are dry embossed using Cuttlebug snowflakes

and a Sizzix embossing folder (which Sizzix calls "texture fades").

I wish there was a name on the Sizzix folder.

It came as part of a Tim Holtz Bird Talk 2 clear stamp set.

The card case is made with a simple paper folder.

I added a JustRite monogram to some of the cards.
Used scallop punches and layered with black paper.

Decided to keep some cards plain and simple--just the embossed front.
Hope my friend likes them.

My case is made with a paper school folder
with the 2 embossed layers and the monogram attached to the front.

Cards and envelopes go inside the pockets.
Fold down and trim.
For the ties, punch a hole on the side, insert ribbon and knot on the inside.
Tie a bow to close the case.

Birds Note Card Set

Made this note card "case" from a folder.
It will be a gift that holds 4.5 x 5.25" cards and envelopes.

I used distress inks to sponge a scene on the front layer
using "holmade" stencils for the hills, clouds and sun.
Stamps:
Fantasy tree from Penny Black
Bird trio from Savvy Stamps

 

Dina Wakley's scribbly birds

were stamped onto background papers.

Some were distress ink sponged 

and some "wrinkle-free" distressed.

Distress inks used:  mowed lawn, festive berries, fossilized amber.

Birds and text stamped in Versafine black onyx.

An old favorite of mine, SU's Friendship's Journey is used on these cards.

Other stamps used:  SU's Antique Collectibles, Hero Arts E2758 Meadow Petals stamp,

from the Poetic Prints Pastel Petals set of four.

Inks: Stampin' Up! creamy caramel, rose romance, close to cocoa, 

Distress: spun sugar.

A Holmade Gift-Note Cards and Case

Made this quick and easy note card set from a paper folder and some white card stock.

I like to give these as hostess gifts when visiting friends. I am entering this stamping project in the Summer Challenge at the Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps Yahoo Group.

I love the summery look of Mike's Mini Cloisonne Creatures. 

Added a script stamp for a faux texture look background.  

Distress inks used:

scattered straw, dried marigold, broken china and rusty hinge.

The card case is made from a paper folder. Place your cards in one pocket and your envelopes in the other. Fold down and trim. For the ties, punch holes in either side, insert ribbon and knot. Tie a bow with the other ends.
