Sewing Machine Card

Made this sewing machine card for a friend who loves to sew.
My inspiration was from a 2013 Archiver's "Sew" Cute card kit
which included 4 Tim Holtz mini blueprint stamps.

I stamped the sewing machine twice, once on the blue printed paper background
and then on the brown printed paper, cutting out just the sewing machine
and adhering it with dimensional foam.
Used distress brushed corduroy to stamp Hero Arts zig zag around layer
and Hero Arts sentiment on top of layer.
Used fibers from my stash to wrap around the layer.

For the inside I used these sewing themed stamps:
Stampin' Up's Pattern of Friendship
and
Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Haberdashery CMS 105.
Sentiment by Hero Arts.
Inks: distress iced spruce, brushed corduroy

Watercolor Trio Variations

 Inspired by Silke Ledlow's card
I made these three variations
after Lynette and I made this card at out June 22 Stampfest.
Lynette's left over strips of the gray printed paper on my stamping table motivated me!

Stamps: Stampin' Up's watercolor trio

Inks: Stampin' Up! going grey, distress fossilized amber inks.

Another Lady Face Card

With colored pencils I sketched another "lady face"
inspired by
Dina Wakley and Jane Davenport.
A friend gave me the dry embossed background layer.

Stamps: Michael Strong, Inkadinkado/Studio K
Distress inks: twisted citron, worn lipstick
Versafine black onyx
Stick-on pearls.

Card of the Day-Friday

Happy Friday!
I am using a watercolor and embossed layer from my stash.
It's nice to make extra, when you have your watercolor paints out.
Makes it quick and convenient...no need to wait for the paint to dry!
Today I sponged the edges with distress distress weathered wood.

As I've mentioned before, I love Michael Strong's mini flowers.
For today's card I stamped them in distress festive berries and abandoned coral
(which was a 2nd impression to get the lighter look).

After seeing YouTubes by Dina Wakley and Jane Davenport in the last few months,
I have been compelled/obsessed to try and draw faces!
...with the emphasis on trying!
Every time I give it a try, my faces look different.
I wish I could control the look, but in the meantime, it's been therapy just drawing!

I thought I'd share my attempts.
I didn't like the brown or blonde/yellow for the hair.
Was inspired to use blue after seeing Jane Davenport's pictures with pink and blue hair.

Stamps: Michael Strong Mini Cloisonne shapes
Hampton Arts Dreams to life

Inks: distress festive berries, abandoned coral, weathered wood
Stampin' UP! bliss blue

Sizzix Airmail Texture Fades (embossing folder)

Additional: colored pencils, adhesive pearls, Sakura Jelly Roll glitter pen XPGB#700, fun fur fibers

Card of the Day-Technique Thursday

Happy Technique Thursday dear friends!
Today I'm revisiting one of my favorites:
Wrinkle Free Distress Technique.
You can find many tutorials online. Click here to see my method.
Distress inks used on background:
festive berries, mowed lawn and wild honey.

Inked Mike's acacia branch with distress mowed lawn marker and stamped randomly.
Stamped word Friend  with black soot marker
(from Hero Arts set of 4 stamps, Bouquet of Smiles).

On a separate sheet of cardstock
in distress abandoned coral. Then I clear embossed it, fussy cut it and attached to card with dimensional foam.
